The European-style Kandahar Lodge is located at Whitefish Mountain Resort, 7 miles from Whitefish, Montana, 32 miles west of Glacier National Park, and approximately 22 miles from Glacier International Airport. The Lodge is a base camp for summer explorations of nearby Glacier National Park and in the middle of the action for winter snow sports. Zip lines, alpine slide, hiking, mountain biking, chairlift rides and a canopy tour are within walking distance of the Lodge. The Village area of Whitefish Mountain Resort also offers dining, drinking and shopping. In the winter the S.N.O.W. bus provides free shuttles to/from Whitefish. Day trips from Kandahar may include hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, sightseeing, fishing, boating, swimming, a balloon flight, shopping, museums, theater, and excellent dining. Winter brings skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and dog-sled adventures. Kandahar Lodge is located in a ski-in location. A short walk takes you to ski out on the Home Again Trail.The property's amenities include a beautiful lobby with wood-burning fireplace, the a large outdoor hot tub, steam room, exercise room, massage services, and fully licensed Snug Bar. Cafe Kandahar is an outstanding fine-dining restaurant that serves dinner nightly (reservations recommended). A continental breakfast is included in the rates.The lodge is open from Thanksgiving to mid-April and from June through September for individual travelers and groups.
