The Hotel Kabuki San Francisco opened in 1968 and was completely renovated in 2007. The exterior of the hotel's 16 story tower and five-story garden Wing echo the artistry of traditional Japanese architecture while Japanese gardens and a Koi (fish) pond add to the overall aesthetic experience. Interior furnishing seamlessly blend Japanese and California styles and are complemented by the hotel's $6 million Japanese art collection.
The Hotel Kabuki features 205 richly appointed guestrooms plus 13 specialty suites. The combination of elegant furnishings and diffused natural lighting through shoji (rice paper) screens contributes to a serene ambience. Guests may choose from Western or traditional Japanese accommodations. Sumptuous bathrooms feature deluxe bath amenities and offer a choice between a Western-style tub/shower combination and a furo (deep-tub Japanese bath for soaking and relaxing).. In 2001, renovation of the bathrooms commenced. This three-year, five million-dollar projects include new tubs, granite counter tops, and marble floors.
