Low-impact environmental initiatives are plentiful throughout The Cody and the hotel is working toward a LEED Certification Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design from the U.S. Green Building Council. Examples of sustainable features include paints with low volatile solids guest room doors made of recycled material porcelain tile purchased from a LEED-certified manufacturer reclaimed lumber used for accent trim cabinets made from quick-growing alder high-cotton content linens and mattress made of latex fill and natural bamboo fiber covers. The building features energy-efficient heating and cooling units and fluorescent energy-saving light bulbs. All appliances are Energy Star certified. The only paper product used in the hotel is biodegradable toilet paper. Bathroom amenities include organic soap shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast is served on china with glass and silverware while guests may take their to-go coffee in biodegradable cups.
